Football Competition in "Hamdan Bin Mohammed School Games Tournament"

As part of Hamdan Bin Mohammed School Games Tournament, the football competition kicked off Monday morning 1st November, 2010 on the football pitches of the Al-Shabab Club.

 
The Tournament is organized by Dubai Sports Council and in coordination with the Dubai School Agency, for the second successive year. Winners of the Tournament's competitions are awarded with precious rewards from all over the area.
The first edition of the Tournament has attained great success and enabled sports students to show their talents and to develop technical levels.  
 
Coaches of junior’ sectors in Dubai clubs watched matches from the Deira group of under 12's – to familiar with the technical level of the competition and to select some promising talent.
 
Al-Muhallab School / Scientific Research School / New World School / Al-Edrisi School have all qualified to the quarter final stage after passing heavy competitive matches with other governmental & private schools in Dubai. 
 
In the first group, Al-Muhallab School defeated Omar Bin Al-Khatab School 3-0 / Al-Ahmadiya School overwhelmed Religious Institute School 9-1.
In the second group, the Scientific Research School defeated Dubai National School 1-0 / Dubai National School defeated Al-Maarif Private School 2-0.
In the third group, the New World School attained two victories against the Arab Unity School 4-1 and against Al-Maharat Modern School 3-0.
Al-Edrisi School attained a victory over Al-Thuraya School 5-4 in the fourth group.

Training Workshop on Football Skills:
As part of the Tournament’s activities, a football training workshop was held under the supervision of Mr. Alex Gibson the Director of Al-Ahli Club Academy. The workshop was held with participation of 28 female teachers from the various governmental & private schools. Mr. Alex presented various theoretical and practical lectures in principles & basic skills of football.
 
Teachers explained desire to hold further training workshops in order to promote their technical levels and enable them to train students in a proper scientific way. Mr. Alex enjoys wise experience in the English & European football as he served as coach for several English national teams. He has attained the title of "Under 18 Years Old European Championship" and served in the technical body of both Manchester City & Manchester United Clubs.
