The UAE's longest established running club breaks new ground when the 2011 Abu Dhabi Half Marathon and 10K run takes to the Streets of Yas Island.

The Stakeholders of Yas have embraced the event and the support in bringing the event to Yas has been absolutely fantastic.

Having outgrown the Island and with growing traffic congestion on the Corniche, the move to Yas Island was a no brainer.

The Run to be held on Friday November 18, presents runners with the choice of 2 events - the Half Marathon (21.1km) and a 10K run.

Starting at 6.30am in the Flash Forum runners will head towards the Yas Marina, past Stars & Bars, around Cipriani's and back out onto the road heading towards the Yas Hotel where runners will make a right turn and run up and over the F1 track and through the forecourt of the hotel. From the Yas Hotel runners will proceed to back out onto the road and make for Ferrari World (10 K runners turn at Ferrari World and head back). From Ferrari World runners continue out past IKEA through the eastern parklands before turning and making their way back past IKEA, past Yas Links Golf Course before a diversion to the new Yas Island Public Beach, from the beach it's 1km to the Flash Forum and the finish line.

A majestic course that will set a bench mark and should be a fast run for those wanting to push for a PB, for others the just finishing and collection your medal may be enough.

All runners will receive a commemorative bespoke medal and a Saucony technical running shirt along with the knowledge they have contributed to raising funds for our designated charity the Special Care Centre.

This year's event is presented by the Abu Dhabi Striders running season partner  ADCB and event partners Al Ain Water, New Medical Centre, Saucony, Flash Forum, Gu Gels, The Yas Hotel, Dr Scholl and Lancaster.
