As per studies released by the WHO, physical inactivity is the fourth largest killer in the world after blood pressure, smoking and diabetes. Obesity and high levels of cholesterol have been ranked fifth and sixth on the WHO charter of 20 reasons laid down.

Following findings of a study jointly conducted by the DSC and the Dubai Health Authority that a mere 34 per cent of Dubai residents are involved in physical activity of some nature, the DSC aggressively launched the highly-popular “Dubai Pulse Programme” that involves several activities for society including walking, cycling, swimming and running.

The hard work put in by the DSC has yielded instant results with the physical activity graph moving up by two per cent to a current 36.
