2014 NAS Sports tournament increases contests and allocates AED 6 million as grand prix for participants and the public in Dubai

The organizing committee of NAS Sports Tournament held a press conference in which  it revealed the program of the competitions organized under the directives and patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, President of Dubai Sports Council, Nad Al Sheba Sport Complex will host the NAS activities during the period 2 – 21 Ramdan, Corresponding to 29 June to 20 July 2014.

Mr. Hasan Al Mazruie, manager of the tournament and head of the media committee, Mr. Majid Al Abbar, head of security and protocol committee, and Nasser Aman Al Rahma spoke at the conference, revealing the prizes for both participants and fans.

Draws of futsal, volleyball, paddle tennis, squash, running and cycling games were carried out during the press conference, the total amount of the prizes will exceed AED 6 million.
During his briefing, Mr. Hasan Al Mazruie expressed his gratitude and appreciation to H.H. sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai crown prince, president of Dubai Sports Council for his continuous support to sport in general and to this tournament in particular, Mr. Mazruie stressed that his highness, directives focused on raising the levels of organization according to the best quality criteria and sportsmanship values, giving UAE youth and residents a chance to practice interesting and enjoyable physical activities which will be kicked off after Taraweeh Prayers, therefore, Mr. Mazruie added, registration will be opened for all categories to take part in the event, futsal qualifiers resulted in the nomination of 13 teams which will be joined by the three winners of the last year version.

Mr. Nasser Al Rahma explained that the contests and the finals will be organized according to the standards approved by national federations.
Mr. Majid al Abbar said that the organizing committee has completed all the required arrangements, including the increase of the number of seats, parking lots, hospitality services, and distribution of gifts on daily basis, games will be televised live.

The tournament will include 6 sports: futsal, volleyball, padel tennis, cycling, running and squash, futsal teams will be permitted to register three foreign players, two registered in the records of the football association in each team provided that  one foreign player only shall take part on the pitch.
Running will be open for the following categories: professional men (UAE Citizens), professional men and women (residents), and armatures, registration for the 10 km run will be opened till 29 June 2014, cycling for 70 km will be open for all categories including under 16 years children (for 20 km) and persons with special needs.
The organizing committee declared that there will be gifts to be given away to the fans on daily basis.
There cars will be given away through a weekly draw on two Nissan Patrol 4 x 4 and a Lexus 4 x 4.
